Our Summer 2023 intern, Annie Eisner was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on January 1, 2020, when she was 17 years old. During her time at Literie, we had no idea how bravely she was fighting.

Over the course of her 3.5-year illness, Annie spent over 250 nights inpatient at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She continued to attend school, work, and carry on with her life right until she lost her battle.

On August 25, 2023, the world lost a little of its sparkle. We know that her light and joy will live on through the work her family continues to do in her memory.

In Annie’s honor, Literie will donate 20% of all sales on Giving Tuesday to the Annietober365 Foundation, which was created by her family. 100% of every dollar donated through this foundation funds innovative research and clinical trials at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Rare cancers—including brain, skin, ovarian, blood, pancreatic, and pediatric cancers—comprise almost half of all cancer diagnoses, yet receive far less research funding.
