faq
How long do Literie candles burn?
Our standard 9 oz candles burn for up to 50 hours, and our 2.5 oz Little candles burn for up to 10 hours.
What are the candles made of?
Our candles are made with a vegan soy and coconut wax blend, cotton wicks, and high-quality fragrance oils. They are always phthalate-free, sulfate-free, SLS-free, animal cruelty-free, and non-toxic. pet safe too!
Where are your candles made?
All Literie candles are made in the USA. Our candles, packaging, and ingredients are produced in the United States, because we care about how each candle looks, smells, burns, and arrives on your doorstep.

How do I care for my candle?
For the best burn, trim your wick to 1/4 inch before each use, let the wax melt evenly across the top during the first burn, and never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Always place your candle on a stable, heat-safe surface and never leave it unattended.

How should I store my candle?
Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and dust. Keep it in the box until you’re ready to use it, or save the box to store your candle between seasons. Pretty packaging, practical purpose!
Can I reuse my candle jar?
Yes! Once your candle is finished, you can clean out the remaining wax and reuse the jar for small storage, desk supplies, or matches!
Why is the first burn important?
The first burn helps set the tone for the rest of the candle. Let the wax melt evenly across the entire top layer before blowing it out. This helps prevent tunneling, which is when wax builds up around the edges and your candle burns straight down the middle.
Why should I trim my candle wick?
Trimming your wick helps your candle burn more evenly, reduces soot, keeps the flame from getting too large. Before each burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch.
How strong are Literie candles?
Our candles are designed to fill your space with fragrance without overwhelming it. Scent strength can depend on the size of the room, airflow, burn time, and where the candle is placed.
What makes your candles different?
Each scent is tied to a specific place, memory, or moment - from a New York City slice shop to a weekend at the lake. We pair thoughtful fragrance with playful storytelling and hand-illustrated packaging, so every candle feels like a gift with a point of view.
